Plants in Food

Plant-based foods have always been part of our DNA at Dragsbæk, and we are accustomed to competing against conventional dairy products. Transitioning to a more plant-based food system is crucial for reducing the global climate footprint. We strive to make it even easier for our customers and consumers to incorporate more plants into their diets.

Reduce Your Carbon Footprint with Plant Oils

What we eat can significantly impact our climate footprint. Butter is not just a staple in many Danish homes; it also has one of the highest climate footprints, exceeding 14 kg CO2e/kg. By switching from dairy fats to plant oils, or from cow’s milk to oat milk, we can make a substantial difference in our reduction goals. And this doesn’t just apply to butter. Dragsbæk is among Europe’s most innovative companies in developing flavors and textures from plant oils – something we achieve through fermentation or the addition of bacterial cultures. We have ambitious plans for further development in this area in the coming years.
